During the South Park 20 panel at San Diego Comic-Con, the focus was keenly placed on the first 20 years of the beloved South Park television series, as well as the upcoming 20th season. At the same time, however, Trey Parker and Matt Stone have been working on a game, a They recently signed a billion dollar deal that included a bunch of specials, a few seasons, a movie, and I believe another game.
Microsoft acquiring Obsidian as they work on Avowed, Outer Worlds DLC, and more, has the likelihood of a new South Park game from them shrinking. With the continued success of the South Park franchise and the creators Trey Parker's and Matt Stone's love of gaming, an eventual sequel to South Park: The Fractured But Whole would seem likely.
Curious to see how/if they top the older games. Also curious how a 3d south park game would work. It would probably be pretty copy/pasty if they made another game where you're a kid in the town playing games with the other kids but the formula worked. Definitely excited to hear more
I grew up watching South Park as a kid, and remember watching the first few seasons on VHS. There weren't many shows like it and the show was always being mentioned on the news for its foul language and crude humor, that young kids shouldn't be watching. The show is now into its 22nd season and has grown into a show that is almost universally loved for its commentary and satire on hot topics arrow_forward.
